The World of Warcraft is impinging on real life again. Not to worry, nobody’s recently dead or addicted, but you can now reach out and touch Azeroth by 3G. According to Icrontic, Blizzard is integrating Warcraft‘s auction house with the popular Armory website.
Warcraft fans will already be familiar with the Armory; it’s a web-accessible treasure trove of of knowledge useful enough to merit an iPhone app. Auction house integration will allow fictional brokers to track the ebb and flow of gold and silver anywhere they have internet access.
There is a catch, however. Blizzard poster Bornakk, who relayed the news initially, said, “This is a fairly complex service to develop, due in large part to its unprecedented integration with the game… certain elements of the service will be premium-based.” So although the Armory’s services have historically been free, you may want to prepare yourself to be monetized.
